I Survived the Attacks of September 11, 2001 by Lauren Tarshis

Historical Fiction 4 Stars

The book is about a boy named Lucas who witnesses the Twin Towers of New York fall down. He tries to help people survive the attack. He also suffers a concussion and has to quit football.  My favorite character is Lucas, because he is determined to stay alive. Also he helps a lot of people.
Lastly he understands why he needed to quit Football.  My favorite part is when Lucas’s uncle Benny saves a man from a burning building because he is a firefighter. Also when he explains to Lucas why Lucas had to quit Football.  Someone else should read this book because it shows how firefighters risked their lives to save people. They should also read this book because it teaches what to do in a life-threatening situation.  This book makes me think about the terrifying moments of 9/11. Also the thousands of people who died. Last but not least how frightening it was.
