This book is about Katniss and she and her sister and Mom live in a place called District 12. Katniss and her little sister Prim have to get ready for the Reaping and it is very dangerous. It can cause you to die. Prim's name gets called at the Reaping and Katniss volunteers to take Prim's place. This shows you, you should protect your loved ones.
Katniss is my favorite character because she is very brave in the story and very loving. I liked the part where she jumps in front of Prim to keep her safe. You should read this book if you love or like action books. This book makes me think about someone who has a hard time and they are getting a chance to help themselves and their family.
